The man who the cap fits as President, Eggon Youth Association (EYA) Worldwide, is none other than Comrade Sunday Ekene Abashi, a proud son of Eggon land, who is deeply rooted in the town’s rich heritage and committed to the progress of the Eggon people.
His journey of Service towards this noble goal began many years ago, working within the local communities. Having served in different capacities and as Community Youth President and Chairman Eggon Youth Movement Akwanga, Comrade Ekene is definitely the best choice for the job.
He says: “If elected as President of Eggon Youth Association, I will champion new initiatives that will connect our diaspora brothers and sisters to grassroots projects, and ensure that no Eggon youth is left behind as a result of my firm belief in the power of unity, innovation, and collective action.”

“This journey,” according to Comrade Ekene, “is not mine alone to undertake. I call on every Eggon youth—whether in Nigeria, or abroad—to join hands with me to transform into a land that truly befits us as honest and resourceful people . Let us revive the spirit of Eggon Kyekye, where each contributes their strength for the common good. Together, We can turn challenges like cultural erosion and disconnection into opportunities for legacy-building.
