The Nasarawa State Students Association (NASSA) has formally recognised Dr. Musa Muhammed Maikaya, the Chief Executive Officer of the Maikaya Development Foundation, for his exceptional support and contributions to the student community in Nasarawa State.
Dr. Musa Muhammed Maikaya, who contested for the governorship election under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2019, was recognised by the Nasarawa State Students Association (NASSA) with an Award of Excellence for his notable contributions to educational development and his impact on the student community in the State.
His efforts through the Maikaya Development Foundation, which provides scholarships, grants and support to students, have been particularly noted for improving access to education and supporting student welfare across the state.
This recognition reflects his commitment to the social and economic upliftment of Nasarawa’s people, aligning with his political vision to develop the state through transparent and effective leadership
The NASSA apex body, under the leadership of Comrade David Ovey Abimiku, presented the Award of Excellence to the Maikaya Development Foundation in appreciation and recognition of its unwavering support to the student community.
This recognition highlights the foundation’s impactful initiatives, particularly its scholarship and bursary programs that have benefitted over 500 students across the state, disbursing millions of naira.
The recent award acknowledges the foundation’s dedication to improving access to education through financial assistance, ensuring that deserving students are not left behind.
The scholarship program is a clear demonstration of the foundation’s mission to uplift the student community and contribute positively to their academic and personal development.
In a message of Appreciation, the President of the Nasarawa State Students Association (NASSA), Comrade David Ovey Abimiku, commended Dr. Musa Muhammed Maikaya, the patron of the foundation, for his continuous generosity and commitment to humanity, not only to the student community but also extended to youths and women.
The Nasarawa student leader noted the award serves as both recognition and motivation for the foundation to sustain its selfless service to the student community.
According to Abimiku Ovey, the foundation’s efforts are recognised as vital to student welfare and education development.
He further stated that the award encourages continued support and service to humanity.

Global Times Nigeria reports that the award of excellence presented to the Maikaya Development Foundation was received by the Foundation’s Technical Adviser and Chief Operating Officer, Hon. Shuaibu Sani.
Sani expressed gratitude to the Nasarawa State Students Association (NASSA) leadership for honouring their leader, Dr. Musa Muhammed Maikaya, highlighting his unwavering commitment to positively impacting the lives of students and young people both within Nigeria and in the diaspora.
Sani, who doubled as the Senior Special Assistant to the Nasarawa State Governor on Youth and Students Affairs, assured the student body that more support and initiatives from the Maikaya Development Foundation are forthcoming.
He encouraged students to take their studies seriously to achieve academic excellence and maximise the benefits of such support.

Global Times Nigeria reported that the Maikaya Development Foundation has made significant contributions to Nasarawa State, including providing scholarship grants to over 525 students reflecting tertiary institutions across Nigeria, with plans to support even more students.
The foundation has enrolled over 750 vulnerable women in the state health insurance scheme, enhancing their access to healthcare services. Beyond education and health, the foundation has also provided potable water through projects like motorised boreholes and empowered women and youths across the state, reflecting its broad commitment to community development and improving quality of life.
