Police Recover Stolen Vehicle, Launch Manhunt For Fleeing Suspects In Nasarawa State

The Nasarawa State Police Command on Thursday, July 10, 2025, receives a case of armed robbery report at B Division, Lafia.

According to a press release on Thursday, July 10, 2025, signed by the Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel,the report indicated that suspected armed robbers invaded the residence of one Aliyu Tijani, a staff of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), located along the Old Police Barracks Road, Lafia. During the attack, the hoodlums made away with a Toyota Camry with registration number LFA 77 ST.

In response to this unfortunate incident, the Command immediately launched a manhunt for the fleeing suspects and initiated efforts to recover the stolen vehicle.

The efforts yielded positive results when credible intelligence was received that the stolen vehicle was sighted in Akwanga. Swiftly acting on this tip-off, detectives attached to Akwanga Division mobilized to the location. Upon sensing the approach of law enforcement, the suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene before police arrival

The vehicle was successfully recovered at the Lagos Park Area of Akwanga and has since been moved to the police station for further investigation.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, commended the officers for their prompt response and the residents of Akwanga LGA for their cooperation and timely provision of actionable information. He urged the public to continue supporting the police by promptly reporting suspicious activities, assuring them of the Command’s commitment to confidentiality and security.
