Maikaya Development Foundation Distributes Thousands Of Exercise Books To Indigent Students In Nasarawa State

In a sustained drive to promote academic excellence and alleviate the burden on students, the Maikaya Development Foundation (MDF), led by renowned philanthropist and gubernatorial aspirant Alhaji Dr. Muhammed Musa Maikaya (Chiroman Toto), has commenced the distribution of thousands of exercise books to students across various tertiary institutions in Nasarawa State.

The gesture, part of the Foundation’s long-running annual educational intervention, is targeted at indigent students to encourage commitment and seriousness in their academic pursuits. MDF’s support for education has spanned over a decade and continues to play a vital role in the academic success of countless students in the state.

During the flag-off ceremony, student leaders, including Comrade Abimiku Ovey David, President of the National Association of Nasarawa State Students (NASSA), and Comrade Tabitha Jatau, State Coordinator of the Association of Nigerian Female Students (ANFS), lauded the Foundation’s unwavering support for students. They described the initiative as timely and impactful, especially in light of the current economic challenges facing many families.

The exercise book distribution comes on the heels of another notable intervention by the Foundation, which recently provided Education Support Funds to over 500 students across the state to assist with tuition fees and other academic levies.

MDF’s guiding philosophy, “Leaving No One Behind,” reflects its broader commitment to supporting the vulnerable and promoting inclusive development in Nasarawa State. The Foundation’s interventions span education, health, and economic empowerment.

Dr. Maikaya, a respected community leader and development advocate, has consistently emphasised education as a cornerstone for building a progressive society. His vision for Nasarawa State is rooted in equality, opportunity, and justice for all, with a strong belief in investing in the next generation of leaders.

With its latest initiative, the Maikaya Development Foundation continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students and underscores the transformative power of education.
