Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State, will from November 3 to 8, 2025, play host to Akwa Ibom Tech Week (AKTW2025), one of Nigeria’s most anticipated technology gatherings.
Organized by Ibom Innovation Network LTD/GTE, the six-day event is expected to attract technology leaders, investors, innovators, creatives, students, and policymakers. This year’s theme, “Catalyzing Digital Transformation for Innovation, Investment and Impact,” underscores the state’s ambition of positioning itself as Africa’s next technology hub.
AKTW2025, billed to hold at CEEDAPEG Hotel, Uyo, will feature keynote addresses, workshops, panel discussions, and networking opportunities aimed at driving innovation, fostering investment, and promoting sustainable growth.
Key highlights of the programme include a Venture Showcase and Pitch Competition for startups, a Career Fair linking skilled talents with prospective employers, and workshops covering AI, Web3, venture funding, and regulatory compliance. Cultural experiences and networking sessions will also be integrated into the event.
Building on the success of AKTW2024—which recorded over 10,000 attendees, more than 44 sponsors and partners, 50 speakers, and facilitated hundreds of job placements—the 2025 edition targets even greater impact, with over 10,000 expected participants and more than 10 million social media impressions.
“Akwa Ibom Tech Week is a movement to position our state as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship,” said Hanson Johnson, President of Ibom Innovation Network. “This year’s edition will not only showcase the brilliance of our local tech ecosystem but also provide opportunities for investors and development partners to connect directly with innovators shaping the future.”
