Integrity Youth Alliance Debunks Claim Of Stolen Police Vehicle

The Integrity Youth Alliance has dismissed as false a social media post alleging that a police vehicle was stolen from a police station.

The post, made by a user identified as Omo Akin with the handle @GuyMr0 on X (formerly Twitter), claimed that a police patrol vehicle had been stolen and shared a picture to support the allegation. The caption read: “A Police Vehicle stolen from the Police Station, imagine how unsafe are the citizens are?”

In a statement on Tuesday, signed by the Alliance’s National Coordinator, Kelvin Adegbenga, the group described the claim as “mischievous and misleading,” insisting that no police vehicle had been stolen.

According to the Alliance, the vehicle displayed in the viral post was not a police patrol car but an eCMR vehicle used in tracking registered vehicles. “Presenting this official tracking vehicle as a stolen police car is grossly irresponsible,” the statement noted.

The group also reminded the public that spreading false information on social media is punishable under Nigerian law and hinted that the individual behind the misleading post may be invited by authorities for clarification.

While urging Nigerians to disregard the claim, the Integrity Youth Alliance reaffirmed its commitment to promoting truth, accountability, and responsible use of social media.
