The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) have called for deeper collaboration among stakeholders to accelerate Nigeria’s digital transformation.
This was the central message at the 2025 Principal IT Stakeholders Forum held in Abuja, where industry leaders, policymakers, and professionals gathered to deliberate on strategies for building a unified technology ecosystem.
Speaking at the event, NITDA’s Director-General, Kashifu Inuwa CCIE, represented by Dr. Aristotle Onumo, Director of Stakeholders Management and Partnerships, stressed that a digitally empowered Nigeria can only be achieved through partnerships. “Collaboration is the key,” he said, while outlining the agency’s **Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP 2.0) 2024–2027**, which focuses on digital literacy, talent development, technology research, and strengthening cybersecurity and digital trust.
He urged stakeholders to actively support NITDA’s digital literacy initiatives to ensure inclusivity in the nation’s growing digital economy.

John Odumesi, Chairman of NCS Abuja Chapter, said the forum was designed to create a space for stakeholders to “co-create and discuss constructively for a better Nigeria,” emphasising that synergy is essential for driving innovation and development.
In her keynote address, Mrs. Ibukun Odusote, a Fellow of the NCS and former Federal Permanent Secretary, commended NITDA for the initiative. Speaking on the theme *“Aligning Perspectives, Building Synergies: Forging a Unified IT Ecosystem for National Growth,”* she highlighted the need for cooperation rather than competition in Nigeria’s IT sector. “Progress in the IT space cannot be achieved in silos. We must complement one another if we are to realise our national aspirations,” she said.
The forum ended with a strong consensus among participants, urging government, industry, and academia to align strategies and strengthen collaboration to advance Nigeria’s digital economy goals.
