….Presents Souvenirs to Deltans, Promotes Police–Community Partnership
As part of activities marking the 2025 Customer Service Week themed “Mission Possible”, the Delta State Police Command has celebrated the occasion by engaging members of the public across the state in a series of outreach activities held on **Wednesday, October 8, 2025.
According to a press release signed by the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Edafe Bright, the Command seized the opportunity of the global celebration to express appreciation to residents of Delta State for their unwavering support in the fight against crime and criminality. During the outreach, police officers distributed souvenirs to road users, market women, parents, and youths in recognition of their continued cooperation with the Police in ensuring safety and security across communities.
Highlighting the importance of collaboration with citizens, the Command emphasised that effective policing thrives on strong partnerships with the public, noting that Deltans’ trust and support have significantly contributed to recorded successes in crime prevention and control.
Similar outreach events were conducted in Ughelli, Warri, Sapele, and other parts of the state, where officers presented gift items, books, and educational materials to residents as well as pupils and students of primary and secondary schools.
In his goodwill message, the Commissioner of Police, Delta State, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, described the initiative as a non-kinetic approach to crime fighting, aimed at strengthening police–community relations. He assured that the Command would sustain such engagements to further bridge the gap between the Police and the public, fostering mutual trust and cooperation for a safer Delta State.
