NNPC Is Deepening Domestic Gas Utilisation By Emplacing The Right Fiscal Environment And Infrastructure – Kyari

The Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation is deepening domestic gas utilisation by emplacing the right fiscal environment and the right infrastructure in order to generate more employment and broaden Nigeria’s economy.

This was disclosed by the Group Managing Director of NNPC, Mallam Mele Kyari while addressing the 20th Nigeria Oil & Gas Conference & Exhibition (Virtual).

The GMD spoke on the theme “Fortifying the Nigerian Oil & Gas Industry for Economic Stability & Growth.

He said, “Despite all forecasts of decline in demand, oil will continue to play a significant role in the global energy mix. As a National Oil Company (NOC), looking forward to 2021 means we have to be more resilient and efficient in our operations”

“As a country, we have decided to bring down the cost of our oil production so as to remain competitive and ultimately, to return value to our shareholders.”

“I am convinced that the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) is the key enabler that will ensure our fiscal environment becomes more competitive and transparent, where investors can actually tell what they will see in the next 30 years.”

The Nigeria Oil and Gas Conference & Exhibition (NOG 2021) provides a platform for the international energy industry to meet with Nigerian oil and gas decision makers to hear policy announcements, explore partnership opportunities and discuss the strategies that will drive the nation towards energy sufficiency.

Serving the Nigerian oil and gas industry for 20 years, NOG 2021 will focus on the strategies that will be employed by the Nigerian government and private sector leaders to navigate the emerging business environment – helping to set the nation’s energy agenda for the next 12 months and beyond.
