Rt Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, Nigerians Minister of Transportation, former Governor of Rivers state and the leader of the All progressive Congress Apc in Rivers state and South South Nigeria,is a great political leader whose grace have carried 80 percent of the current crop of Rivers politicians irrespective of the party divide, including senator magnus Abe.
Chief Eze chukwuemeka Eze wrote,and I quote”John Maxwell and general Montgomery therefore must have had AMAECHI in mind when they stated respectively that” A leader is one who knows the way,goes the way and shows the way”
Than hear Chief Eze’s own definition of leadership,he defined leadership as”the capacity and the will to rally men and women to a common purpose and the character which inspires confidence.
These quotes of this great man, simply confirms Rt hon chibuike Rotimi Amaechi as a great leader, whose grace have carried so many political leaders within and outside Rivers state.
HOW AMAECHI’S GRACE CARRIED ABE POLITICALLY.
Yes the duos are age mate and contemporaries in politics, wherein they were colleague in the 32 man Rivers state House of Assembly.
Rt hon chibuike Rotimi Amaechi was elected on the platform of the People’s Democratic party PDP in1999,from his ikwerre state constituency,and was later elected as speaker by members of the house.Amaechi influenced the election/ appointment of Mugnus Abe as the minority leader of the house,who was elected on the platform of the All people’s party App from his Gokana state constituency.
By 2003,magnus Abe couldn’t return to Rivers state House of Assembly for a second term, because his people rejected him through the ballot
Rt hon chibuike Rotimi Amaechi returned and continued as speaker.His love for Hon Mugnus Abe,as he than where,made him to plead with H.E Dr Peter odilli the than Governor of Rivers for appointment of Mugnus Abe as secretary to Rivers state Government,But for certain reasons,he was appointed commissioner for information, through the instrumentality of Amaechi.
In 2007,when the supreme Court of Nigeria declared AMAECHI,as the dually elected Governor of Rivers state,he immediately appointed Mugnus Abe,as the secretary to state government,by this Amaechi became his boss and principal.
By 2011,senator lea meaba was denied a return ticket to Senate,just to favour Mugnus Abe,Amaechi did everything within his reach and insured Abe was elected into the red chambers
In 2015,Amaechi again single handedly gave him a return ticket to the Senate,turning down the likes of Chief victor Tambari giadom and other prominent ogoni son’s that have remained with Amaechi till date without betrayal.
NOW MY QUESTION TO SENATOR MAGNUS ABE AND FEW OF THOSE FOLLOWING HIM.
1.Supposedly, AMAECHI did not recommend him to Dr Peter odilli for appointment in 2003,when he was rejected by his people through the ballot.what could have been his faith politically.
2.yes,no doubt senator magnus Abe is a good and credible candidate for any election at his level,if I may ask again,is it not injustice on the side of AMAECHI to support senator Mugnus Abe or another upland candidate for Rivers Governor, considering the fact that Rivers state is politically polarized into upland and Riverine.
3.if the answer to number 2 question is in the negative,why than is the Southern Nigerians clamouring for the presidency by way of zoning in 2023.
4.When the political anointing from AMAECHI was pouring on Magnus Abe,why didn’t he reject it, or advise AMAECHI to do the needful as he now claims.
5.With due respect to distinguished senator Mugnus Abe,Can he please explain to world,what he mean when he was quoted as saying that I am the highest political investment of Amaechi.
All this and many more questions are begging for an answer.
STILL AMAECHI’S POLITICAL GRACE
Senator Mugnus Abe played the role of second in command in the Amaechi’s political team,he also recommended to AMAECHI for nomination Mene Derek into NDDC as EDFA against an ikwerre son,rather than appreciate Amaechi,they enriched themselves and their cronies,to the tune of billions through the award of contracts,and later turn around using the proceeds to fight Amaechi.
CONCLUSION
Conclusively, Based on the above it is important for senator Mugnus Abe to review his actions and inactions and remember that AMAECHI’S grace have carried him this far,
My humble advice to senator Mugnus Abe is that he should remember that Amaechi have nothing to lose in this fight, because Amaechi does not need any position again in Rivers state,he has been Governor and now a minister, rather it is he Abe and the ordinary party members are the once suffering it.
As a politician at that level,senator Abe should also remember that,if he is fighting AMAECHI because of his perceived presidential Ambition,than he is making a mistake.
Trying to destroy Rivers Apc will not stop Amaechi,and that is seen as the highest political joke of the decade.
Rather than continue to stay, to fight,an already lost battle senator Mugnus Abe should honorably tow the part of his ally Chief Alwell Nyeso and formally defect to pdp,because Apc will not only be on the ballot but will take over brick house come 2023,take it to the bank,it is a sure win.
