ADC Clarifies: Senator Nenadi Usman, Hon. Bashir Saidu Are Coalition Leaders In Kaduna, Not ADC Leaders

The Kaduna State Chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed reports suggesting that Senator Nenadi Usman and Hon. Bashir Saidu have assumed leadership positions within the party, clarifying that both figures were appointed by the Coalition Partners and not by the ADC.

In a statement signed by Elder Patrick D. Ambut, Chairman of the ADC in Kaduna State, the party described such claims as misleading, stressing that its duly elected leadership structure remains intact and unaffected by the coalition’s internal arrangements.

According to the statement, the Coalition Partners is a broad alliance of political parties, interest groups, and individuals united in a patriotic mission to rescue Nigerians from the prevailing economic hardship and misgovernance under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Elder Ambut explained that the coalition’s appointment of Senator Nenadi Usman as Chairman and Hon. Bashir Saidu as Co-Chairman in Kaduna State was purely to coordinate coalition activities and strengthen collaboration among opposition leaders in the state.

“The appointments are entirely separate from the ADC’s leadership structure,” the statement emphasised. “The elected State Executive Committee of the ADC remains in full control of the party’s affairs and operations within Kaduna State.”

He further clarified that Senator Nenadi Usman, who currently serves as the Interim National Chairman of the Labour Party, continues to represent her party within the coalition frameworknoting that her involvement is consistent with the Labour Party’s longstanding participation in the joint opposition movement.

Elder Ambut also refuted circulating claims that Senator Usman has defected to the ADC, describing them as “completely false and without basis.”

The ADC urged the public and media to disregard any misinformation suggesting otherwise, reaffirming its commitment to the ongoing coalition efforts aimed at restoring good governance and alleviating the suffering of Nigerians.
