The Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Baba Alkali, psc (+), NPM, fdc, min in commitment to his policing agenda, has approved the deployment of AIG Aliyu Garba psc+ as the new Assistant Inspector General, Zone 7, Abuja.
A statement from Zone 7 Abuja PPRO, SP Istifanus Sunday Bako, said that AIG Aliyu Garba psc+ who assumed duty as the 31st AIG of Zone 7, Abuja on April 12, 2023, succeeded AIG Olukayode Egbetokun who was recently promoted to DIG.
AlG Aliyu Garba psc+ was born on 20th June 1963 and hails from Kontagora, in Niger State.
He holds a Master of Arts in International law and diplomacy from the University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt Rivers State.
The AIG is a graduate of the prestigious University of Sokoto with a Bachelor of Arts in History. He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in the year 1990 as Cadet ASP at Police Academy (Annex) Kaduna State and was later posted to Oyo State Command as Admin Officer.
He was later transferred to Niger State where he was made the ADC to the
First Executive Governor of Niger State His Excellency Dr. Inwa Musa.
AIG Aliyu Garba psc+, served in various capacities of the force and attended
several professional courses in law enforcement, and crime prevention/control within and outside the Country.
This includes:-
(i) Centre for Excellence and Stability Police Unit COASPU, Vizenza in
Italy.
(ii) Cyber Security Course Shanghai-China
He was CP. Ebonyi Command before his deployment to AIG Zone 7, Abuja he
was serving at the Force Headquarters as the CP. ICT.
The AIG also served in the following formations thus:-
(I) Deputy Commissioner of Police Welfare Department of Finance and Administration Force Headquarters Abuja.
(ii) Deputy Commissioner of Police Research and Planning Force Headquarters Abuja.
(iii) Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone 2 Headquarters, Lagos.
(iv) Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Area Command Headquarters Railway Ibadan.
(v) Assistant Commissioner of Police Bori Rivers State
(vi) Area Command Portharcourt.
(vii) Assistant Commissioner of Police in Agodi Area Command, Headquarters Oyo State.
(viii) 2i/c State CID Bauchi State Command.
(ix) DPO Okrika Diobu Division Rivers State
Special Area Bonny Island Rivers State and many Police Divisions in River State Command among others.
AlG Aliyu Garba psc+ coordinated and supervised tactical and intelligence response team operations, which led to the arrest of high-profile criminals and the recovery of a large cache of arms and ammunition in River State.
AIG Aliyu Garba psc+ is the 31st AIG of Zone 7 Police Headquarters since the creation of the Zone in 1996.
