Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 7, Abuja, AIG Aliyu Garba has given thanks to Almighty God who gave him the opportunity to serve humanity as a police officer.
According to a press release on Tuesday, 20th June 2023 signed by the Zonal Police Public Relation Officer, Zone 7 Command HQ, Abuja, DSP Mustapha B. Abdulkadir, said that AIG Aliyu Garba appreciated all men and women who in one way or the other crossed path with him during his career as a police officer.
The Zone 7 police AIG made this known at the gathering of officers and men of the Zone during his official disengagement from the force in FCT Abuja where he gave his farewell speech at the Zone 7 command headquarters on Tuesday 20th June 2023 on his attainment of Sixty (60) years of age and Thirty-three years meritorious service to his fatherland.
According to DSP Abdulkadir, he reiterated that AIG Aliyu Garba appreciated everyone including his coursemates, seniors, and junior officers whom he came across in the course of his service, and have contributed in one way or the other to the success of his career.
He especially appreciated his management team, who have helped him in the successes recorded in the Zone during his time as the AIG in charge of Zone 7 command headquarters.
He counseled the officers coming behind to be strong, hardworking and focused as the sky is their starting point.
The AIG admonished officers to be their brother’s keepers by teaching colleagues who are coming up in the job as no man knows it all. He emphasized discipline, and the need to learn new things every day, adding value to your job as a lot of officers have something to offer to NPF.
“Do your best; God will help you and reward you abundantly,” the most important thing is to have good intentions he said,
He further added that officers shouldn’t be in a hurry in life, because the necessary aid will come when it is supposed to come.
He called on officers to emulate the management team he is leaving behind, because they are a reservoir of knowledge.
Among the dignitaries present were; the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Zonal CID, DCP Kabir A. Shehu, the Deputy Commissioner of Police Finance and Admin DCP Uduak Ita Otu, other senior officers, the chairman of PCRC Zone 7 Alhaji Tijani Zubair, who also praised the AIG’s leadership skills, saying it’s one of a kind.
They all appreciated working with him, have learned a lot from him, and wished him a successful retirement life.
The occasion ended with the presentation of a parting gift by the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of X-squad ACP Okebeshi G. Agora on behalf of officers and men of the Zone.
