….. Police to Support Fire Emergency Response Efforts
The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 7 Headquarters Abuja, AIG Victor Olaiya, psc(+), has pledged robust collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force and the Federal Fire Service to enhance public safety and emergency response.
According to a press release on Wednesday, 13th August 2025, signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja, ASP Halima Mohammed, he made this commitment on Wednesday when he received the Assistant Controller General of Federal Fire (ACGF), Zonal Command Wuse Zone 3 Abuja, Mohammed B. Tajudeen, on a courtesy visit to the Zone 7 Headquarters.
The meeting, which was attended by the Zone 7 Police Management Team and senior officers from the Zonal Federal Fire Service, focused on strengthening inter-agency cooperation, intelligence sharing on arson, sabotage, and fire-related crimes, as well as developing joint strategies for crowd control, evacuation, and overall public safety during fire incidents.
ACGF Mohammed B. Tajudeen commended the Nigeria Police Force for its vital role in protecting lives and property during emergencies. He praised the leadership of Zone 7 for fostering a cooperative environment and expressed readiness to work closely with the Police to improve emergency preparedness and response.
In his remarks, AIG Olaiya emphasized that effective synergy between security and emergency services would enhance service delivery and boost public trust. He assured the Federal Fire Service of the Police’s full support in joint operations, training, and intelligence exchange.
Both agencies reaffirmed their commitment to deepening operational ties in the interest of public safety.
