By Eze Chukwuemeka Eze,
“….Greatness is not found in possessions or power, but in the service and sacrifice we make for others.” — Billy Graham. It is a great privilege to stand before this noble assembly to honour and appreciate the awardee of this year’s Redeemer’s Men Fellowship Weekend — Arc. Dr. Chief Christian Asaga Nwali, Chief, your tireless commitment to humanity and community development has transformed countless lives and advanced the growth of the gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ in different communities across our state and beyond. …” Dr. Igwe
Preamble:
I was in Ebonyi State to attend the burial of a very dear lovely sister, late Mrs. Evang Ozioma Dora Umahi Nwaeze, the wife of a bosom brother and friend, Chief. Roy Umahi Nwaeze SAN. While in the state, I was greeted with an invitation to attend the following day, an award ceremony organized by the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG Province 1 Abakaliki, on one of the outstanding sons of Ebonyi State, Arch. Chief Christian Asaga Nwali. I could not resist the invitation and I thanked God for that rare opportunity to witness the honoring of a man whose love for Christ and the works of His vineyard is truly infectious.
Though, I have been a close friend to the celebrant but I must confess that I was taken aback, deeply reminiscing about the exemplary character of the distinguished awardee based on the testimonies from the church leadership, members and most of the Special Guests that attended the event.
He is a visionary leader, renowned philanthropist, exceptional entrepreneur, hospitality and tourism expert and a construction guru. He is the CEO/MD of C-Sagas Group of Companies Limited, a conglomerate with an operational base spanning various services.
The fact remains that the humility, liberality and candor Arc. Christian exhibited during our past interactions distinguishes him from people of his class – people who have attained the peak of their career with global recognition for excellence and classical quintessence. One will only have reasons to appreciate God for the privilege of associating with such a humanist who trail-blazes in the construction industry and whose entrepreneurial acumen is worthy of emulation.
An unsung, unassuming, foresighted, visionary and outstanding leader of the last day Army of Christ Dr. Chief, Evang. Christian Asaga stands out as a vocal crusader of good governance, consciously advocating societal development and the general wellbeing of all in the body of Christ.
An elixir to contemporary Nigerian leadership deficit, Arc. Nwali is a core progressive, party loyalist and condensed advocate of good governance; a reminiscence of selfless service; an intellectual giant and leader par excellence. His humility was again exhibited during the burial of Late Mrs. Uzoma Roy Umahi where he played down his status by helping to share food to guests and mourners who had gathered to bid farewell to Mrs. Umahi.

He holds a Master’s degree and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph,D) in Architecture from the prestigious University of Nigeria Nsukka and an honorary Doctorate Degree (Ph.D) in Entrepreneurship and Strategic International Business Management from the prestigious American University.

“If wealth does not flow into other lives, it is nothing but a decorated prison for the owner.” And Arc. Nwali refuses to imprison himself.
Apart from some of his Philanthropic ventures mentioned above he ensures that he gifts out cash in new notes to all members of the church that attend the first church service of every given year.

WHAT GREAT MINDS HAVE SAID ABOUT THIS ENIGMA OF A MAN:
According to a well notable and respected son of Ebonyi State and a very close associate to the celebrant, Prince Sunny Ugwoucha, “Dr. Chief, Arc. Christian Asaga Nwali, the CEO/MD of C.SAGAS GROUP is a man of many parts. He exhumes humility, humbleness, dexterity, loyalty, hardworking, benevolence, trustworthy as well as zing and zest. He is a rare gift to humanity. He is a human builder who rewards people working with him to be like him, if possible exceptionally. He is an enigma. I congratulate him on this milestone of achievement and pray that God Almighty shall keep blessing him and his, in and out, Amen.”
Prof Ogbonnaya Chukwu erstwhile Ebonyi State Commissioner for Finance and Senior University Administrator, Elder Dr. Obinna Nwachukwu erstwhile Ebonyi Commissioner for Finance, Elder Chief Silas Orawo the CEO Ora Trade Ltd, Dr. Ernest Ejem, Prof Onuorah Nweke, Chief ifeanyi Nwankwo, Dr. Archibong Friday, Prof Kenneth Nwekpa, Engr. Dr. uchenna Ogah, Apostle Stanley Igwe, Chief sunday Obasi and many others in their various testimonies of their encounter with the celebrant poured encomium on him describing him as a genius, an assiduous Philanthropist and a true child of God
ESV A/P Nnenna Ugwoucha the CEO of WHITEHILL LOGISTICS ENTERPRISE in her congratulatory message stated, “I am happy that one of our own in the person of Dr. Nwali who through his benevolence has positively affected the church in particular and humanity in general is being celebrated today.”
Dr. Obisi Nweke the Ebonyi State Coordinator of C-Sagas Charity Foundation on behalf of the Foundation Congratulated and commended the church for conferring the prestigious award of “Excellence In God’s Vineyards, Humanity and Community Development” upon the Founder and Chairman of the C-Sagas Projects Nig. Ltd, Arch. Chief C. A. Nwali PhD (Okpata Ozua Oha 1,)
According to Dr. Nweke, this thoughtful recognition speaks not only of the Fellowship’s commitment to celebrating Kingdom Service, but also of its spiritual discernment in identifying men whose works reflect the heart of Christ,-works rooted in compassion, leadership, sacrifice, and community transformation.
By acknowledging the Founder of C-Sagas Charity Foundation, you affirm the importance of impactful service and inspire many to serve God and humanity with greater dedication
Your choice to spotlight excellence within the vineyard of the Lord is a testament to your vision, unity, and unwavering devotion to building strong men, strong families and strong communities. Such gestures, strengthen the body of Christ and illuminate the path for a new generation of leaders shaped by integrity, godliness and love for humanity ”
On the other hand the Black American Rights Activist, politician, and propounder of the Kingian Principle of non-violence, Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. with Dr. Nwali in mind was very much on point when he asserted that “an individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity”.
This is akin to the citation offered by Albert Schweitzer which states that “the purpose of human life is to serve and to show compassion and the will to help others.” One can safely infer that Dr Nwali has by no small measure carved a niche for himself as already stated, as he continues to break new grounds and discover opportunities in his services to humanity.
Dr. Nwali has severally been said to have acquired the rare label of a barrel of sound human breeding, having been raised in a dynamic cultural setting with distinct and rigid societal mores, where sound etiquette, a deeper sense of brotherliness and love are practically inculcated as a holistic approach to life and held in high esteem. He is voracious in thoughts and well-spelt-out ideas, as he is beautifully decorated with other attributes traceable to excellence, tact, focus, and results-driven programmes, among others.
Dr Nwali is an open-minded individual with a keen interest in the progress of people and society.
THE AWARD CHURCH SERVICE:
The Church Service was presided by the Pastor in charge of RCCG Ebonyi Province One, PICP Adegbite James Adeola while APICP Raphael Obun handled the Sermon which he titled, “Men of Honour”
He took his Bible text from Acts 6: 3 and 1 Chronicles 28:10, 20 and explained to the congregation that for any man to be a person of Honour, such a man must put in place a succession plan and train his children not only to know God but to put their faith and hope in God. Be productive and have a personal relationship with God.
That men of God are Priests who are expected to inculcate Christian values amongst members of his family given example with how David prepared his son Solomon to be King of Israel and how the seven Deacons in the Acts of the Apostles was chosen and how Paul Prepared Timothy to take over from him.
PRESENTATION OF THE AWARD PLAQUE:
A/P DR. AUGUSTINE NELSON IGWE
the President, Redeemers Men Fellowship Faith Tabernacle Parish – Abakaliki in his welcome address expressed delight that one of our own is being celebrated today unlike the past years we have to celebrate those outside the church.
He started by acknowledging and appreciating Distinguished Pastor James Adegbite – Pastor in charge of Ebonyi Province 1, the highly respected Parish Pastor – Pastor Eze Onyebuchi, and other Ministers, the Distinguished Awardee – Arc. Dr. Chief Christian Asaga Nwali and His amiable wife, Dr. Lolo Irene Ugochi Asaga Nwali and all the church members and guests.
“It is with great joy and deep gratitude to God Almighty that I warmly welcome every one of you to this special gathering of the Redeemer’s Men Fellowship weekend 2025 and the Honouring of our daddy – Arc. Dr. Chief Christian Asaga Nwali, who God uses greatly to bless his people in the form of Humanity and Community Development, of which our great parish can attest. This year’s theme, “Men of Honour,” drawn from Acts 6:3, reminds us of God’s expectation for His chosen men—“men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom.” In a world where integrity is declining and true leadership is scarce, God is calling us to rise as exemplary men: men of character, men of courage, men of spiritual depth, and men whose lives reflect the glory of Christ in every sphere.
This event goes beyond a mere assembly; it is a call to higher responsibility. It is a divine invitation to rediscover our God-given roles as priests, leaders, and builders in our families, the church, and society. As we worship, learn, pray, and fellowship together, may the Lord empower us to become men whose lives speak louder than words—men who honour God and are honoured by God.
“Greatness is not found in possessions or power, but in the service and sacrifice we make for others.” — Billy Graham.
Truly, your parents were led by the Holy Spirit when they named you Christian, for you have exemplified Christ-like service, compassion, and generosity in all your works. Your unwavering dedication to the things of God — expressed through numerous donations to the church — is a testimony worth giving glory to God for. You have graciously donated a modern two-storey building to RCCG Faith Tabernacle, built and donated worship edifices to Deeper Life churches, among many other remarkable contributions, only a few of which were captured in your citation. Your humility, love for God, and passion for uplifting others have inspired the RCCG Redeemers Men Fellowship of Faith Tabernacle Parish to honour you with this Award of Excellence in God’s Vineyards, Humanity and Community Development. Indeed, the motto of your foundation — C-Saga Charity Foundation: Humanity and Community Development — is a true and accurate reflection of your life, values, and impact. In the light of the above celebrations we graciously bring to your attention a pressing need within the Redeemers Men Fellowship of this parish.: the need for a bus/buses for evangelism. This has been a long-standing aspiration for us. With your support, we hope that this vision can become a reality.
We are deeply honoured by the presence of our fathers in the Lord, our guest speaker Pastor Raphael Obum, and all our invited ministers whom God has graciously brought to bless us. Your presence adds divine blessings and value to this gathering, and we pray that the Lord will continually increase His grace upon your lives and ministries.
To the children of God who have travelled from far and near, especially for this event, we say thank you for joining us. May this programme mark a turning point of transformation in your lives and families. May God visit us in a mighty way, and may we all leave here as true Men of Honour.
Thank you, and God bless you.”
APPRECIATION AND THE SHOCKING ANNOUNCEMENT BY THE CELEBRANT:
The men’s fellowship for over five years has been praying and soliciting for support to enable them have a bus for their outings. In this vein they have honoured both the Governors of Ebonyi State and Enugu State with hope to realise this dream all to no avail
To the Glory of God, Dr. Nwali in his appreciation for the honor done on him expressed delight over the award and said that he has taken note of the demands of the fellowship for a bus and he will like to reassure the fellowship that the search for a bus is over. As a man of integrity coupled with the donations from those that accompanied him millions of naira were there and then donated thereby ending any issue about the purchasing of a bus.
The Church was fully charged and thanks were made to God who blessed his children with such a rare gift like Dr. Nwali.
He concluded by paying glowing tribute to the Pastor of the Church, Pastor Onyebuchi Eze whom he described as a true man whom God have used in divergent ways to bless him and his family.
Dr. Nwali highlighted, “let me State that without my God divinely gift to me in the person of my beloved wife, Dr. Ugochi lrene Nwali, I wouldn’t have achieved much in this life. I thank God for given me such an Angel for a wife
One of the Elders in the Church, Elder Polycarp Nwakelu corned me and confided in me that this fellowship for over five years have been doing all within her powers to get a bus but shockingly they have been hoping on Governors without them knowing that what they are looking for is within the church.
In another development, Mum Success Eze a very strong member of the church and a great woman of Faith who was at the burial of late Mrs. Dora Umahi on her way back to Abakaliki from Uburu with other women lamented when one of the Ebonyi State Government buses cruised passed them, she cried to God, why should the church of God not have such an air conditioned bus and shockingly in answer to her prayers and lamentation that within less than 24 hours her prayer was answered through a special child of God, Dr. Nwali
I pray for my friend that God who uses him to restore hope and happiness to his children will surely bless him beyond his thoughts in Jesus Name, AMEN.
Congratulations for a well deserved award, my brother and friend. I pray God to guide, bless and grant unto you better and greater Awards ahead for better services to humanity.
Arc. Christian Asaga is happily married to Dr. Ugochi lrene Nwali and they are blessed with beautiful children.
