….Prays for a Change of Heart by Perpetrators
….Calls on Government to Establish Military Unit in the Area.
In what is aimed at alleviating the pains of those attacked in last week’s siege on Kwapre village of Hong Local Government Area, Adamawa State, by suspected Boko Haram insurgents, the Member representing the area ,Rt.Hon.( Dr.) Yusuf Buba Yakub, Friday, delivered two truckloads of relief materials to Garaha where most indigenes of Kwapre had at the wake of the attack fled for safety.
In a press release signed by Nkem Anyata-Lafia, the Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs to Rt. Hon. Buba, he said that speaking at the short ceremony that followed the delivery, the lawmaker called on the people to remain strong in the face of the fate that befell them. While praying for all those who were killed in the attack, he expressed the hope that those abducted would soon be found and that everything about insurgency would soon come to a definite end in the entire Northeast Zone. He, also, promised to always stand by them at all times. Rt. Hon. Buba ,also, prayed that God will give a change of heart to those who carry out attacks on innocent targets, especially women and children, who, he said, were known not to be targets in any conflicts everywhere across the globe. He, also, praised the efforts of the security Agencies against insurgent activities in the area and re-iterated his call on Government to establish a military unit around Kwapre and Garkida town.
Represented by the erstwhile Director General, Hon. Capt. Buba Campaign Organisation in Hong Local Government Area, Alh. Adamu Kwacha Hong, the lawmaker told the victims of the attack to ensure that the relief materials, which included food stuff and household materials, got to other victims of the attack ,who are currently taking refuge in all parts of the surrounding communities.
Leaders of the different groups of the victims of the attack, who expressed gratitude for the magnanimity of the Member representing Gombi/ Hong Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, also used the occasion to pray for more blessings and Allah’s guidance for the lawmaker.
It will be recalled that the lawmaker had earlier in the week following the attack dispatched a team led by Alhaji Kwacha to various hospitals and local healthcare centres across Garaha and the surrounding communities to ascertain the level of carnage and destruction that was meted on the people, their farmlands and homes and to see what immediate material intervention could be delivered to them.
