There is an indication that some officials at the PDP National Secretariat do not accord His Excellency Peter Obi respect due to him as the leader of the party in Anambra state.
A post on Dr. Doyin Okupe’s Facebook page reads, “PDP AND PETER OBI: It is a matter for great regret that despite HE Peter Obi’s gentlemanly civil disposition and unwavering commitment to PDP as a party, some officials in the National Secretariat of the party do not accord him the respect due to him as the leader of the party in Anambra state.”
“Recently a free and fair national delegates elections were conducted in the state and the results verified by INEC officials. Surprisingly some people within the state are trying to collude with certain elements within the National Secretariat to manipulate these results in order to undermine the political base of Peter Obi in Anambra.
“We plead earnestly with the respected leadership of this great party to intervene and ensure that things are done properly and rightly and in accordance with our party’s constitution.”
It is on record that Peter Obi is the first and only presidential candidate that has visited 35 states of the federation, including the FCT, covered at least 3 states in a day and ran the most inexpensive campaign.
So far, delegates from Kano, Jigawa, Nasarawa, Anambra, Benue, Kogi, Edo, Imo, Cross River, Taraba, Delta, etc. have guaranteed him their votes.
Presently, Peter Obi is the most popular presidential aspirant as a result of his approach to issues, his down-to-earth lifestyle, and his ability to effectively communicate his vision and plans.
Undoubtedly, Peter Obi is the most reputable presidential aspirant. He continues to emerge as the vastly preferred aspirant in all online and offline polls done so far.
It is hoped that the leadership of the Peoples’ Democratic Party at the National Secretariat will intervene in the Anambra State issue and ensure that things are done properly and rightly and in accordance with the party’s constitution.
