CP Giwa Welcomes 195 Newly Recruited Constables To Enugu Command

…..Urges Commitment to Professionalism and Integrity

The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, has officially received 195 newly recruited Police Constables posted to the Command from the Police College, Oji River.

According to a press release signed by the Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, addressing the officers at the State Headquarters, Enugu, CP Giwa congratulated the new Constables and urged them to view their recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force as a rare opportunity to serve the nation with professionalism, discipline, and integrity.

He charged them to avoid acts of extortion, corruption, and abuse of power, stressing that the Command would not tolerate any misconduct or misuse of the Police uniform to oppress citizens. The Commissioner warned that erring officers would face severe disciplinary measures.

CP Giwa further disclosed that the new officers, along with earlier recruits, will undergo a short but intensive tactical and operational training immediately after their post-College leave. The exercise, he said, aims to enhance their crime-fighting and operational capabilities.

It will be recalled that the 195 recruits from Enugu State—comprising 124 males and 71 females—are part of a total of 379 Constables drawn from the five states of the South-East: Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo. They underwent six months of rigorous training at the Police College, Oji River, and passed out on 7th October 2025 under the supervision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun
