….Reassures Watertight Security for free, fair and peaceful elections in Zamfara State
The Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, CP Kolo Yusuf on Friday patrolled the popular Gusau – Yandoto – Tsafe – Funtua road to make the state safe and secure for free, fair and peaceful elections in the state, in his Commitment to ensuring watertight Security for the forthcoming 2023 Governorship and State House of Assembly Elections Scheduled to hold on Saturday 18th March 2023.
According to a press release on Friday, 18th March 2023 signed by the Zamfara State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Mohammed Shehu, said the Commissioner of Police while visiting some Police checkpoints along the road, assured the general public, especially people of Zamfara state that Police and other security agencies are working assiduously to ensure smooth conduct of the elections.
The CP further called on the electorates to confidently come out and exercise their franchise without any apprehension, as measures have been put in place to make the environment secure for the election exercise.
To further strengthen the existing security emplacement, the Commissioner of Police directed Area Commanders and Divisional Police officers (DPOs) to adopt the same initiatives in their respective jurisdictions, calling on members of the public to be law abiding and report suspicious movement to the nearest Police Station for prompt action.
