Ekiti CP Orders Discreet Investigation Into Housebreaking Incident By Alleged Security Operatives

…Distances Police from Operation Flush Unit, Vows to Uphold Justice

The Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph Eribo, has ordered a discreet investigation into a disturbing incident of housebreaking by armed men believed to be security operatives, as seen in a viral video currently making rounds on social media.

The footage shows the operatives forcibly entering a residential apartment in Ado-Ekiti, raising public concern and sparking allegations that members of the Operation Flush Unit, a joint task force comprising multiple security agencies, were responsible.

In a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abutu Sunday, the police firmly denied involvement in the operation, clarifying that the Nigeria Police Force in Ekiti State does not operate or maintain any unit known as “Operation Flush.”

“The Command is not part of the Operation Flush Unit as being alleged by a section of the public,” the statement read. “The Commissioner of Police has ordered a thorough and discreet investigation into the incident to establish the facts and ensure that justice is served.”

CP Eribo called for calm among residents and urged any victims or individuals with useful information to come forward and assist with the investigation.

Reaffirming the Command’s commitment to justice, the rule of law, and the protection of citizens’ rights, the statement assured the public that Ekiti Police will continue to prioritise the safety and security of all residents.
