The member of National Assembly representing the Ede north, Ede south, Egbedore and Ejigbo federal constituency of Osun state Representative Bamidele Salam has congratulated the winner of the Osun State 2022 Governorship Election, Senator Nurudeen Ademola Jackson Adeleke on what he described as a well deserved victory.

Salam in a statement which he personally signed congratulated Senator Adeleke, saying the result of the election shows that power truly belongs to the people and with the election a new ray of hope and sunshine has been rekindled for the people of Osun state.

He stated that the electorates across the 30 local government areas of Osun State have spoken in very loud and clear terms by affirming their preferred choice in Senator Adeleke who is to take over as the next governor of the state come November.

He also sent his hearty congratulations to the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) family and all stakeholders who came together to make the victory possible.

He appreciated Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for demonstrating innovative approach to issues especially with the use of Bimodal Voters Accreditation (BVAs) machines, electronic transmission of election results from the polling units to the central database which was open to all pointing out that logistics and conduct of the election generally improved even as the system cannot be said to be perfect yet.

Salam noted that the most significant aspect of Senator Adeleke’s victory is the peaceful outcome of the election as residents of Osun largely conducted themselves peacefully by ensuring that the election was devoid of violence emphasising that such was a bold testimony to a positive change.

In his words:

We are deeply involved in celebration of our dear candidate, Sen.Adeleke on his well deserved victory in which he defeated the incumbent governor on a wide margin. This is a clear and audible testament to the acceptance he has enjoyed form our people across the length and breadth of the state

With this victory, the people of Osun state have shown the way out for bad governance, ineptitude and lukewarm approach to issues affecting them which was the hallmark of the outgoing administration. I assure you that, your mandate is not only a victory to Sen. Adeleke alone or that of the PDP, rather it is that of the people who are truly at the heart of all the programmes, projects and activities that the incoming administration will be carrying out.

We will leave no stone unturned in returning governance to the people by carrying out functions of government in a transparent manner that will mitigate the sufferings and pains inflicted on our people by the outgoing government. I therefore look forward for a smooth transition to enable us set the ball of pro-people governance driven system, rolling.

While congratulating the winner, it is my pleasure to equally send my heartfelt appreciation to all who turned out en mass to vote for our credible candidate-the youths, women, the aged, people with physical challenges and all those who made this victory possible. Your hopes and aspirations are effectively in good hands”.
