Engineer Sule Distributes Vehicles To Security Agencies

Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has distributed vehicles to security agencies operating in the state to facilitate their activities.

Engineer Sule handed over keys to the vehicles to the security agencies at a brief ceremony at the Government House, on Tuesday.

According to the Governor, the gesture was to facilitate their smooth operation In the state, as well as show appreciation for the recent rescue of kidnapped Keffi Local Government Area council chair, Hon Baba Shehu.

Engineer Sule particularly commended the prompt response by the security agencies following the kidnap of the council chairman, which saw to his release barely 24 hours after he was abducted.

“As you are all aware, the chairman of Keffi Local Government Area was kidnapped and because of the way our security agencies swung into action, they mounted so much pressure on the kidnappers, that in just about 24 hours, they had to quickly negotiate and release the victim,” he said.

The Governor handed the keys to the vehicles, two to the Commanding Officer, 177 Battalion Keffi, and three to the state Commissioner of Police.

He commended both the CO 177 Battalion Keffi and the CP, visiting for the scene of the abduction, monitoring the rescue operation, as well as encouraging their men.

He assured that his administration will continue to encourage security agencies operating in the state, to do more.

“We have ordered more vehicles but I can’t wait for all the vehicles to arrive. We are starting with the police and 177 Battalion. Two vehicles for 177 Battalion Keffi and 3 for the police,” he stated.

Speaking on behalf of the security agencies, Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Adesina Soyemi, appreciated the Governor for the gesture.

The CP noted that, by that singular act, the Governor has shown that he is aware of the things security agencies doing in the state.

“And on behalf of every security agency here, I want to promise you we will continue to work and ensure that peace prevails in the state. I promise that we will not fail,” he stated.
