…. CP Giwa Vows To Sustain Onslaught Against Criminals
The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, psc, has reiterated his firm resolve to sustain the ongoing onslaught against criminal elements across the State, particularly those involved in violent crimes.
This assurance follows the arrest of one Chinweuba Edeh, aged 42, for allegedly robbing a Point of Sale (POS) operator of ₦70,000.00 on October 17, 2025, at about 6:40 a.m.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, Police operatives attached to the Nkanu West (Agbani) Division swiftly responded to a distress call from a female victim who reported being robbed at gunpoint at Oriemba Akpugo Market, Nkanu West Local Government Area. The prompt response led to the arrest of the suspect and the recovery of a locally made double-barrelled pistol loaded with two live cartridges.
The suspect is currently in custody and will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
While commending the officers for their professionalism and quick response, CP Giwa urged residents of the State to remain law-abiding and vigilant, and to continue providing useful information that will assist the Police in the fight against crime.
