Enugu Police Takes Steps To Get Rid Of Criminal Elements From Holy Ghosts And Environs

The Enugu State Police Command said it has intercepted a viral audio recording by a young man alleging the commission of heinous crimes at the Holy Ghost and Railway axis of the Enugu metropolis.

In a statement on Tuesday, 23rd January 2024 signed by the Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, said that although the command is yet to identify and properly debrief the alleged victim, it has, however, strengthened operational and investigative activities in said area, to rid it of any forms of crime and criminality.

“To this end, the Commissioner of Police, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu has urged the alleged victim to make himself available for the Police debriefing, which he says is necessary to authenticate the allegation and to make ongoing policing actions in the area more purposeful and productive, DSP Ndukwe said.

The CP advised citizens against hastening to share and spread such security situations in the media, without first reporting and allowing the Police to act on such information diligently.

He noted that such hampers and makes effective policing and crime management difficult and unproductive.
