The Enugu State Command’s Commissioner of Police, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu has assured the leadership of the Southeast Zonal Office of the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons, of continuous support and cooperation towards the actualization of the Centre’s mandates, particularly in the area of drastically reducing the circulation of illegal arms and weapons in the State.
According to a statement signed by the Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, said that he stated this today, October 19, 2023, when the Zonal Coordinator, Major General Okechukwu Ugo (Retired), alongside principal officers of the Centre, paid him a courtesy and familiarization visit in his office, at the State Headquarters, GRA, Enugu.
The Zonal Coordinator had, earlier in his speech, highlighted the critical importance of the Police in the actualization of the Centre’s primary mandate of controlling and mopping up illegal arms and weapons in circulation, and to back-load arms not in use by security agencies. He, therefore, solicited the continuous collaboration and support of the Police.
The CP was joined by some of the Command’s management team members and staff officers to warmly welcome and interact with the visitors.
