Ex-Gov. Dickson Describes Former Aide, Obuebite As Symbol Of Loyalty To Past, Present PDP Administration At State, National Levels

….Commiserates with him over loss of parents, father-in-law, sister

The immediate past governor of Bayelsa state and PDP standard bearer, Bayelsa west Senatorial District, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson has described his former aide now Special Adviser to the Prosperity Administration on Investment, Hon. Dr. Jonathan Robinson Obuebite as a symbol of loyalty to the past and present PDP administration at all the tiers of government.

Hon. Dickson who led party faithfuls on a condolence visit to the family of Hon. Obuebite at his residence in Yenagoa thanked Obuebite for his commitment and loyalty to Restoration government and present administration in the state.

‘When I see loyalty, all of you know, I will back you and not somebody, when there is small move, you will shake. When the storn is higher that is when I dare the storm. I know all of you, I know the price you pay. I dont want to say too much because, I am here on condolence visit.

I thank you all for the support and encouragement you have given me and even to the government that I want you all to support. I don’t want to say anything more than that, keep giving support to the government.

He stated that the likes of Obuebite are rare to come by in today’s political circles, noting that some politicians are after conveniences and that is not loyalty.

He said Obuebite like others dare the devil, staked out their necks at ensuring the success of the Prosperity Administration during after the election.

‘,As a result of the instruction I gave to you, the direction I gave you, we all sacrificed and supported the government, you would have gone this way or that way.

Many people played politics of convenience, what is convenient for them, that is not loyalty. The real test was what you people did, when I say go this way, go and support Douye Diri and it is a miracle because some of you would have died. Let me tell you, you are not forgotten and God has not forgotten you.

On the demise of Obuebite’s parents and in-law Hon. Dickson expressed his heart felt sympathy, describing death shocking.

He said their demise had created big vacuum that would be difficult to fill.

According to him, I like that song that you sang because it has said everything to me. We are all instruments in the hands of God, none of us know tomorrow. The best we can do is to do our best and be prayerful because tomorrow belongs to no man.

No matter the ages of your parents, you are still left with sadness. Everyday reminds you of new memories, not money but the store of knowledge, information and guidance and prayers that you suddenly dont have and can’t be replaced. All of you joined me to bury my parents, so I know what it is.

However, it teaches you a lesson that you yourself are now a father and we pray that God will comfort you.

Earlier, the immediate past Commissioner of Education, Hon. Obuebite had thanked the former governor, Hon. Dickson for a successful transition programme to another PDP administration which has never happened in the anal of the state.

Hon. Obuebite said this was made possible as a result of the former governor’s faith in God.

His words, on behalf of the PDP family, we want to say thank you. Those of us that worked with you know what transpired and how you stood and what you said you want, that Bayelsa state would be handed over to another government that will worship God and ensure that this state belong to God.

I borrowed your word that he served God well, he that serve the people, and that has been our principle because you’re a true believer of God.

There are some things we have done as a family that if not for you, as I speak your Excellency, the political family worship here twice a month.

Also morning devotion, my children know that for the past four years, every morning by 6:30, they’ll come out for devotion.

We have learnt a lot from you. Your Excellency, on this day, I would have said so much but the thing I want to tell you is that, we will stand by you and the Governor you have given us, God used you to give us a Governor and like you said from day one that God will lead us to support and stand by the Governor. So I want to thank you for that.

Your Excellency, on behalf of the family, we want to say thank you, you have come at the time that we needed you. We want to say thank you for coming, thank you for coming to share our pains with us, from the first day it happened, your Excellency, you have been that strong pillar. Ordinarily, I wouldn’t have gone through this process but because of your encouragement and fatherly encouragement.
