…Describes Procession as a Show of Shame
…Cautions Ibas Against Inflammatory Actions
…Urges NBA to Ignore the Unsavory Indulgences of the Retired Military Man.
Erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has described as a ‘show of shame’ the protest organised by the political faction of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, in support of emergency rule in Rivers State.
In a statement made available to the media, Chief Eze said the protesters, mainly women, numbering over 150, robed in white attire, were mobilised with financial inducements to indulge in the shameful procession against democracy, the rule of law, the constitution of Nigeria, and their consciences, thus attracting widespread condemnation from the lettered public and Nigerians of goodwill. The shameless protesters were led by a former Commissioner for Social Welfare in Rivers, Ifeyinwa Aguma, who is an ally of the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike. This infamy act by these undemocratic elements should not surprise anybody,, knowing very well that their principal has declared war against Rivers State because of her Treasury
The APC chief said no person with his/her right sense of reasoning would prefer a stranger with zero knowledge of the mechanics of governance over a technocrat with fantastic public service records, duly elected by the people through the ballot, to steer their affairs. The women, Eze said, were mobilised without prior knowledge of the purpose of the procession and were coerced to proceed or be stranded in Port Harcourt, having been mobilised from villages.
On the request by the Sole Administrator to the NBA to refund the N300M gifted to her by the genuine Government of Rivers State, Chief Eze urged the body to ignore Mr. Ibok Ette Ibas, describing him as a tool for instability in Rivers State whose indulgences have deepened acrimony and chaos in the political playground.
If there is any money to recover, Mr. Ibas should first make haste to recover the billions wasted by Nyesom Wike through his improvident and wasteful use of the common funds, particularly his unsolicited, prodigal gifts to Benue, Sokoto, Akwa-Ibom, Abia, Lagos and more.
Eze cautioned Mr. Ibas to Accord some respect to the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Sim Fubara, and be careful with his careless indulgences, which are capable of igniting tension and tumbling the legacy of peace of the Fubara administration.
Eze assured Rivers State and the good people of Nigeria that at the fullness of time, all the illegal appointments so far made by Sole Administrator Ibas, including the appointments of Sole Administrators for the 23 local governments, will be overturned accordingly.
