…Accuses him of Stylishly Using Amaechi to Resurrect from his Fall to the Lowest Pitch of Abject Fortune
Erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has described as an act of fawning servility, the botched effort by former Minister of Communication, Adebayo Shittu at faulting the very constructive and sincere criticisms of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration by former Presidential aspirant and ex Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Barr Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and other notable political leaders in the country.
Shittu had stated that All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains like Rotimi Amaechi, Salihu Lukman, Babachir Lawal, and other aggrieved members fighting against or faulting President Bola Tinubu is not necessary.
Shittu, while encouraging Tinubu to pacify, former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, in an interview with Punch, said Amaechi’s anger against Tinubu is not justified.
According to Shittu, Amaechi’s claims of discrepancies in the APC presidential primaries should be taken to court instead of being expressed in an antagonistic manner.
Shittu noted that Amaechi’s actions of merely mouthing all over the place condemning Tinubu on the baseless allegation that people were bought is not right, advising him to make peace.
Speaking on Babachir Lawal, Shittu said his fight against Tinubu because of the purported Muslim ticket was unnecessary.
The APC chieftain clarified that Babachir would not have delivered the vote the Vice President, Kashim Shettima did during the 2023 election because he is a minority in the North.
Reacting through a statement made available to the media, Chief Eze noted that such opinion from Shittu and his likes irks to loathing given that the country is faced with an avalanche of problems ranging from hunger and food shortage to insecurity, economic downturns and steady downward trend of the naira at the international money market; these challenges starring is in the face can only stir reactions from responsible leaders, critical stakeholders and notable patriots like Amaechi and Lawal.
Faulting Shittu’s criticism as self-serving and dishonest, Eze clarified that neither Amaechi nor Babachir is fighting President Tinubu, stressing that it will be abnormal for anyone to be envious of a leader whose performance by all indices of assessment ranks below average and whose administration’s general appraisal results in abysmal failure.
And for the records, Nigerians have not forgotten how during the APC presidential primaries, Tinubu bribed delegates with thousands of dollars each to secure the party’s ticket; infact, it is safe to say the president bought the party’s ticket and the result is suffering that has ravaged the country today; the result is the organized corruption in high offices under the regime. A regime where the President has made himself the law far above the constitution which he swore to protect.
As a matter of fact, Nigerians are already fighting the Tinubu regime for the unpopular, self-serving policies it initiated that have brought untold hardship to citizens and turned the country into the capital of poverty in the world.
Adebayo Shittu who is stylishly battling to resurrect from his fall into the lowest pitch of abject fortune since he left public office, must desist from using Amaechi to curry Favour from President Tinubu. It is crass irresponsibility for anyone to defend the crass ineptitude of the current regime for any reason whatsoever.
Eze admonished Shittu and his likes to look for something reasonable to do and leave Amaechi out if their inordinate search for relevance, stressing that the former Rivers Governor is concerned with issues of national interest particularly those that are vote to the peace, unity and development of the country.
