FCT Police Arrests Seventeen Suspected Cultists

………. urge residents to report all suspicious activities.

In furtherance with its relentless effort to rid the Federal Capital Territory of criminal elements, the FCT Police Command has arrested seventeen (17) suspects for cultism along Gwagwalada, Gwagwa, Lugbe and Kurudma axis.

The suspects are: Peter Ajari 22 years, Jacob Terkaa 27 years, Isiaka Abdulmalik 19 years, Akadiri Ay 23 years, Nnamdi George 23 years, Tony Enejo 23 years, Abioze Samuel Cole 35 years, Samuel Mbachongu 29 years, Michael Malachi 36 years, Mbani Chukwuebuka 34 years, Monday Orgar 24 years, Onyeaka Chinonye 33 years, Christian Chidebere 42 years, Chukwuebuka Onijbo 24 years, Okife Zion 23 years, Umoh Faith 22 years and Emmanuel Obinna 31years all male .

According to a press release signed by the FCT Police Command, Public Relations Officer, ASP Yusuf Mariam, she said that the suspects were arrested by Police Operatives from the Command’s Anti-Cultism Unit during the coordinated raids and patrols between Monday 5th-Friday 9th April,2021. Furthermore, the suspects confessed to being members of Vikings and Aro Baga confraternities terrorizing these areas.

Exhibits recovered from the suspects are: three locally made pistols, and two rounds of live ammunitions, four cartridges, two knives chain, one axe, one cutlass, wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and charms.

The Command spokesperson said that all the suspects will be arraigned in court upon conclusion of investigation while she implores residents to report all suspicious movements, emergency or distress,  to report the conduct of Police.
