The FCT Police Command has arrested 51 suspected looters and recovered some stolen items at Jabi-Daki-biu, Idu Industrial Estate Karim area.
While briefing the media on Monday, 26th October, 2020, the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Bala Ciroma said that the operation that led to the arrest was necessitated by the looting and destruction of public and private warehouses in the territory by some suspected hoodlums.
Exhibits recovered include 52 bags of 5kg Rice, 2 bags of 50kg Rice, 4 Cartons of Eva Soap, 1 big sack of Spaghetti, 1 sack of tomatoes paste, 20 Trousers, 33 Shirts, 3 cartons of Terra Soya oil, 2 Cartons of Noodles, 17 Wrappers     and 10 Linen.
Ciroma also said that the command has also deployed personnel to secure key infrastructure in the territory in collaboration with sister security agencies and community stakeholders.
While appealing to residents to remain law-abiding and calm, Ciroma reiterated the unflinching commitment of the Command to provide adequate security within the FCT.
