The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commissioner of Police, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, has ordered an extensive security operation targeting criminal elements across Abuja and its environs.
The move forms part of renewed efforts to sustain public safety and further strengthen security within the nation’s capital.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the operation begins in November 2025 and will run through January 2026.
Tactical and surveillance units under the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), along with operatives from the Police Mobile Force (PMF), Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), and the Department of Operations, have been deployed to intensify crime-fighting efforts across the territory. All divisional formations have also been directed to participate in the joint operation.

The Commissioner of Police instructed personnel to identify, dislodge, and arrest suspected criminal elements operating within the FCT, particularly in known black spots, hideouts, and vulnerable communities. He emphasised that the operation will be sustained throughout the three months, with officers maintaining a consistent presence and dominance in strategic areas.
CP Dantawaye charged officers to conduct the exercise professionally, warning that acts of misconduct or indiscipline would not be tolerated. He further urged operatives to respect human rights and uphold integrity throughout the operation.
The Police Command called on residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security personnel by reporting suspicious activities and movements. Members of the public are encouraged to contact the FCT Police Command Control Room via 08061581938 or 0803200913, and the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) on 08107314192 for emergency assistance or prompt response.
