…. As AIG Ogundele J. Ayodeji calls for support for men on duty, reiterates his commitment to keeping the Capital Territory safe.
The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 7 Command, which covers FCT and Niger State, AIG Ogundele Joshua Ayodeji on Monday, 22nd of January, 2024 in a continued effort to rid the FCT of Banditry and Kidnapping, embarked on an on-the-spot assessment of deployment of personnel across the length and breadth of Bwari Area Council to build the confidence and motivate the officers and men on the frontline in a bid to rid the country of Banditry and Kidnapping at all levels, and the subsequent inauguration of the Special Intervention Squad (SIS) and the launch of ”Operation Fyelagi” by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun which has recorded successes in the Federal Capital Territory.
In a statement on Monday, 22nd January 2024 signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Zone 7 Command Headquarters, Abuja, DSP Mustapha B. Abdulkadir, said that some of the locations visited include Kuchiko, which is a boundary between the FCT and Niger State, Nigeria Law School, Ushafa, Bwari Central, and many more.
According to DSP Abdulkadir, the AIG appreciated the commitment and relentless efforts of officers of the FCT Police Command, specifically the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Bwari Area Council, CSP Babayola, as well as officers and men who have been deployed to bring an end to the menace.
The AIG also visited the Chairman of Bwari Area Council, Mr John Shekwogaza Gabaya, who appreciated the efforts of men of the Nigeria Police Force, adding that ever since the deployment of personnel by the NPF, they have enjoyed relative peace in their communities.
The AIG called on the Council Chairman to give necessary support to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) and the personnel who have been deployed to carry out the task of restoring peace to the communities, by way of information sharing and more.
He further appeals to the chairman to be cautious when it comes to sensitive issues, as some of those criminal elements live within the communities like every other person.
The AIG assured the good people of the Capital Territory to remain calm and to have faith, as the Nigeria Police Force remains steadfast in its mandate of protecting lives and properties.
