Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has approved key appointments to strengthen governance and drive development across critical sectors.
The Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, who conveyed the governor’s approval, announced Barr. Mahmood Aliyu Bappari is a new Judicial Service Commission member. Malam Haruna Ahmed Imam is the State Coordinator for the Gombe State Community Action Resilience and Economic Stimulus (Go-CARES) programme.
The Governor also constituted a high-powered committee to oversee the preservation of museums and monuments in the state, with the Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Information, Culture, and Ethical Orientation, as Chairman.
Members of the Committee include the State Chairman, ALGON; Director-General, Gombe Media Corporation; Alhaji Yaya Hammari (Wazirin Yeriman Gombe) and Mr. Yakubu Sarma, Senior Special Assistant, Special Duties.
Others are Dr. Usman Isa Ya’u (Historian) and Alhaji Abdulfatah Aliyu (Dan Amar Kaltungo) while Prof. Mu’azu Shehu, Permanent Secretary/PPS will serve as Secretary.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya expects all the appointees to bring their wealth of experience and expertise to their respective roles in order to advance his administration’s quest to deliver good governance, promote economic resilience, and preserve the state’s rich history and cultural identity.
All the appointments are with effect from 10th January, 2025.
