Governor Inuwa Mourns RFI Correspondent, Shehu Saulawa

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has expressed sadness over the demise of veteran journalist, Malam Shehu Saulawa of Radio France International, RFI who passed on yesterday in Bauchi after a protracted illness.

A statement on Tuesday, 28th February 2023 signed by the Director-General (Press Affairs) Gombe Government House, Ismaila Uba Misilli, said that Governor Inuwa, in a message of condolence, described the late international pressman as a highly resourceful media practitioner who demonstrated professionalism and capacity during his stint at various media organizations, including the British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC.

He noted that Saulawa’s death will leave a huge hole in the spectrum of the journalism profession, not only in northern Nigeria but nationally and internationally.

Governor Inuwa, on behalf of the government and people of Gombe State, conveyed his deepest condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, his professional colleagues as well as the management and staff of RFI over the great loss, praying Almighty Allah to grant him Aljannat Firdaus.
