Gombe State Governor and Chairman of the Anambra state APC governorship primary election appeal committee,  Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya earlier today submitted the report of his committee to the National Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Committee,  CECPC of the All Progressives Congress, APC  at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

In a press release on Monday 5th July, 2021 signed by the Director-General (Press Affairs) Gombe Government House, Ismaila Uba Misilli , he said that the Governor, while handling over the report to the CECPC Chairman, Governor Mai Mala Buni, represented by the National Secretary,  Sen. John James Akpanudoedehe, thanked the leadership of the party for finding him and the other members of his committee worthy of handling the task.

He said, in view of the importance and urgency of the assignment,  his committee had to immediately after its inauguration, swing into action, working through the weekend and meeting all the contestants and key players in Anambra state.

He said, “We thank God that we met with all the contestants and also got to principal stakeholders so that we thrash through the issues and advise the party accordingly.

“The summary of all our undertakings is what we have as a report plus some of the documents that we were able to receive in terms of petitions, recommendations or advice.

“Answering questions from journalists shortly after the presentation ceremony, Governor Yahaya said he expects that his committee’s recommendations will bring justice and strengthen the gains of the party, not only in Anambra state but the whole of the south east and Nigeria.

He said “We heard their complaints we went through the petitions and we’ve written our report based on the materials we got and I believe justice has been done as we promised ab initio”.

Receiving the report on behalf of the national leadership of the APC, Sen. James Akpanudoedehe commended Governor Yahaya and members of his committee for executing the assignment with dispatch, assuring that the CECPC will look at the report critically with objectivity and be guided by the recommendations.

Recall that the Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya- led Anambra state APC governorship primary election appeal committee was inaugurated on Friday with the mandate to hear all appeals that arose from the conduct of the said primary election and make recommendations in line with the party’s laid down procedures, guidelines and constitution.
