Governor Inuwa Yahaya Mourns Professor Garba Kalayi Difa

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has expressed sadness over the demise of Professor Garba Kalayi Difa, a renowned medical expert and senior figure in the Department of Surgery at the Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH) Gombe, who died after a brief illness.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya described the late professor as a trailblazer in medical education and a man whose life was devoted to serving humanity and advancing healthcare in Nigeria.

He noted that the late Professor Difa, as the pioneer Provost of the College of Medical Science, Gombe State University, played a foundational role in setting high standards for medical training and clinical practice.

“Professor Garba Kalayi Difa was a brilliant surgeon, mentor and role model to many in the medical profession. His contributions have left an indelible mark in the hearts of his students, colleagues, and the medical community.”

On behalf of the government and people of Gombe State, the Governor extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, his colleagues at the Federal Teaching Hospital, the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Gombe Chapter, and the Yamaltu Deba community, where the late professor hailed from.

The Governor prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of Professor Difa and grant him eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus.
