Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of his Special Adviser on Legislative Matters, Hon. Mamman Alkali, JP, who passed away today, 23rd July 2025, in Gombe after a brief illness.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya described the deceased as a responsible public servant and trusted associate, who served the state with exceptional dedication, integrity and humility.
“Hon. Mamman Alkali was a dependable ally, a seasoned legislator, and a committed democrat whose wisdom, calm nature and selfless approach to service will be sorely missed”.
On behalf of the Government and people of Gombe State, the Governor extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, friends, political associates and the Bangunji community in Shongom LGA.
He prayed Almighty God to grant him eternal rest, while giving his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss.
A grassroots politician, Hon. Mamman Alkali held numerous leadership roles, including Councillor, Majority Leader of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor of Gombe State, Board Member of the Nigerian Atomic Energy Commission, and member of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
As announced by his family, the burial is scheduled to hold on Saturday, 26th July 2025 at Bangunji, Shongom Local Government Area.
