The Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, on Monday, 3rd May, 2021, made real his promise to a non-profit organization based in Keffi Council Area of the State, Keffi Ten Wards Development Association, K10.
During the Association’s graduation ceremony of over two hundred students who were trained in computer application, designing, tailoring, paint production, shoe making and cosmetics, held at the Youth Centre, Keffi, in March, this year, Governor Sule, represented by the State’s Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Othman Bala Adam, had pledged to donate sewing machines and laptop computers to the organization to boost their efforts in tackling unemployment in the State.
In fulfilment of his promise, the Governor, represented by the State’s Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Othman Bala Adam, donated five sets of sewing machines and two pieces of laptop computers to the organization.
According to the Governor, the gesture was to acknowledge the efforts of K10 in creating empowerment through skills acquisition, thereby reducing the unemployment ratio in the State.
While handing over the items to the Organization, Engr. Sule called on the beneficiaries not to sell them but put them into judicious use, adding that his administration would not rest in its oars to better the lives of youth and unemployed citizens of the State through various empowerment programmes.
Receiving the donated items, Chairman of K10, Abubakar Inuwa, appreciated the Governor for walking his talk, assuring that the Association would make use of the facilities for the intended purposes.
He equally applauded the Commissioner, Hon. Othman Bala Adam, for working round the clock in order for the promise to be fulfilled.
Among other dignitaries at the presentation ceremony which took place at the private residence of the Commissioner in Keffi are Prince Attajiri(Zonal Coordinator to His Excellency, Governor Abdullahi Sule), Engr. Wada na Wada(MD, NUDB), Aliyu Hassan(Chairman, Baraya Vanguard, Keffi LGA), Mallam Muda (Rep. of Elders Forum) and Hon. Engr. Bala Mulki.
Others are Hon. Yakubu Karshi(Former State Assembly Aspirant), Idris Mustapha(Patron, K10), Chairman, APC Keffi Council, Coordinator, Keffi Council Area, as well as other APC party EXCO members from the Council Area.
