The Integrity Youth Alliance has chided the “Concerned Nigerian” for accusing the Minister of State of Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva and the Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC), Mele Kolo Kyari on complicity in the resurgence of fuel queues.
In a press release on Tuesday 8th February 2022 signed by the Alliance National Coordinator, Kelvin Adegbenga, he said that it is on record that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company has urged Nigerians to disregard rumours of petrol shortages and not engage in panic buying, stating that it has enough in stock.
“Our findings indicated that the NNPC Limited has over two billion litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) also known as Petrol, in stock, Adegbenga said.
The statement added, “It is on record that the GMD/CEO of the NNPC Limited, Mal. Mele Kyari has been intervening in the situation, by meeting with oil marketers; including members of the Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria and other dealers, over issues bordering on transportation and distribution of petrol
“The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has on several occasions urged Nigerians to disregard rumours of petrol shortages and not engage in panic buying, stating that it has enough in stock,” it stated.
