Mallam Musa Bello, Minister of the Nigerian Federal Capital Territory, has pledged the administration’s support for the FCT Police Command in carrying out its responsibility of securing the Federal Capital Territory.
The Minister made this pledge during a courtesy visit from the new FCT Police Commissioner, CP Sadiq Idris Abubakar.
The Minister stated that the new CP was coming to the FCT with extensive policing experience as well as some experience in the FCT Command, having begun his career in the FCT police force.
He expressed confidence that the new CP will build on the successes of his predecessors, stating that all of them had made significant contributions to the FCT Command becoming what it is today.
Mallam Bello prayed to God for success in the Command and the cooperation of his men.
Earlier, CP Sadiq Idris Abubakar commended the FCT Minister for all the support the Administration had rendered to the FCT Police Command and revealed that the command will evolve new strategies to further secure the nation’s capital.
“I wish to assure the Hon. Minister of our loyalty and our readiness and commitment to duty and to emphasize that we shall continue to do our best and I am sure with the support of the Hon. Minister, which he has been giving, and what we may enjoy again, it will make our job easy”. The new CP said.
He also pledged to ensure that the officers and men of the Command live above board and do what is expected of them saying that being the nation’s capital, Nigeria will largely be perceived by the international community with the happenings in the FCT.
Also present at the meeting was the Chief of Staff to the Minister, Mallam Bashir Mai-Bornu, the Executive Secretary of FCDA, Engr. Shehu Ahmed, Secretary, Transportation Secretariat, Hon Abdullahi Adamu Candido, Director of Security, FCTA Mr. Adamu Gwary, the SSA on Security to the Minister, Amb. Abu Salihu Mohammed, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations) Mr. Nurudeen Sabo and Deputy Commissioner (CID), Mr. Ahmed Musa, FCT Police Command spokesperson, DSP Josephine Adeh with other police officers and senior officials of the FCTA.
