IGP Egbetokun Appoints CSP Benjamin Hundeyin As Force Public Relations Officer

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the appointment of CSP Benjamin Hundeyin as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO).

Hundeyin, who holds a BA in English Language from Lagos State University and an MSc in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan, brings a wealth of experience to the role. He also holds a Certificate in Civil-Military Coordination from the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Training Centre, Jaji, Kaduna State.

A professional in the field, Hundeyin is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), a member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM).

He has served in several strategic communication roles, including Police Public Relations Officer at Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos; Administration Officer at the Force Public Relations Department, Abuja; and most recently, Police Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Police Command. In 2020, he was part of Nigeria’s contingent to the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur, Sudan (UNAMID).

The IGP urged Hundeyin to use his professional and security expertise to strengthen police-public relations and enhance the image of the Force.

He succeeds DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who officially signed off on the announcement from the Force Headquarters, Abuja, on September 4, 2025.
