Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has applauded Lagos State Governor, Dr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for his sustained commitment to strengthening security operations across the state, particularly with the donation of 100 new operational vehicles to the Nigeria Police and other security agencies.
The commendation was made during the IGP’s special visit to the Lagos House, Marina, where he met with Governor Sanwo-Olu, the Executive Secretary/CEO of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, and other senior government officials. The visit followed the Governor’s announcement of the vehicle donation at the 19th Annual Town Hall Meeting on Security, organised by the LSSTF at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island.
Governor Sanwo-Olu explained that the vehicles, jointly procured by the state government and Conference 57, reflect his administration’s renewed commitment to safeguarding lives, property, and critical investments in Lagos. He emphasized that effective security requires collective responsibility and stronger collaboration between government, security agencies, private sector partners, and residents.

The Governor noted that the intervention aligns with the Security and Governance pillar of the THEMES+ Agenda and complements President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ongoing national security reforms.
In his remarks, IGP Egbetokun hailed Lagos State and the LSSTF for remaining a national benchmark for subnational security support. He stated that the new patrol vehicles and other interventions will improve police response time, enhance mobility, and boost overall operational capacity—particularly as the state prepares for increased activities during the festive season.
This year’s Town Hall Meeting, themed “Building Trust, Enhancing Security: A New Era of Security and Partnerships”, brought together national and state leaders, security chiefs, industry stakeholders, and traditional rulers to review security initiatives and deepen collaborative efforts.
