On Thursday, the newly constructed main office of the Nigeria Police’s Adamawa State Command headquarters was put into service by the Inspector General of Police.
The IGP stated the new Yola building is a prototype that already exists in certain areas and is planned for each of the 36 states in the nation, cutting the ribbon to formally open the new office.
To motivate officers and men of the force to perform at their highest level, he stated that his administration is dedicated to improving office and residential facilities. The administration has also constructed a few prototype police stations and plans to build more across the nation.
The IGP said, “This is my second visit to Yola since becoming the IGP, and I am excited, as this has to do with this new befitting headquarters.
“I am proud of this facility. This facility represents our commitment to serving our people, prioritising the welfare of our officers and improving service delivery. We will ensure that our officers have all the facilities and equipment to do their duties efficiently.”
Earlier in his speech, the Commissioner of Police in Adamawa State, CP Dankombo Morris, noted that the new headquarters building was started and is now completed within the time that Egbetokun has been the IGP.
He thanked the IGP for the initiative and appealed for more operational vehicles for greater efficiency in checking crime across Adamawa State.
