IGP Egbetokun Commissions Police Indoor Shooting Simulation Centre

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun on Wednesday commissioned the Nigeria Police Force Indoor Shooting Simulation Centre, this cutting-edge facility, poised to set a new standard for law enforcement training in Nigeria and beyond.

According to him, the establishment of the centre was a result of the Nigeria Police’s inventiveness and teamwork with Consortium of Simulation Technologies Ltd., Barcode Centre Ltd., and Automatic Identification and Mobility, its partners.

“This Centre, being commissioned today, is a key resource for training and development within the Nigeria Police Force.

“It will contribute to the overall professionalism and effectiveness of our law enforcement operations,” he said.

Given that it was created expressly to give officers the most advanced and useful training possible, he said the facility marked a significant turning point in the Nigeria Police’s quest for training excellence.

He says that training at the facility will enable individuals to hone their abilities and react confidently and precisely to challenging circumstances.

He clarified that the simulation centre was more than just a training ground, describing it as an all-encompassing, multipurpose centre furnished with cutting-edge technology to guarantee that cops were ready for any eventuality.

“The Centre boasts the latest technology, including virtual reality simulators, interactive targets, and advanced firearms training systems.

“These resources enable our officers to practice shooting techniques, tactical manoeuvres and decision-making skills safely.

“Training at this Centre will undoubtedly contribute to a reduction in shooting-related incidents involving officers and an increase in the overall effectiveness of our law enforcement operations,” he said.
