The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun says the Force will support the International Human Rights Observatory Africa (IHRO-Africa) to achieve its objectives; to be a voice for the voiceless and to respect the human rights of others ensuring the justice of individuals and groups, helping promote awareness to fight against Communalism, Terrorism and all forms of Crimes.
Egbetokun said this when he received members of IHRO-Africa, led by Amb. Daniel Koussou, the Chairman of the Committee on Economic Diplomacy, Trade, and Investment in Nigeria.
The IGP said that it was a pleasure to host members of IHRO-Africa, adding: “We will give adequate security support especially to your delegates, CEOs, diplomats, and investors visiting Nigeria later in the year,” he said.
Earlier, Amb. Daniel Koussou applauded the IGP’s notable achievements and doggedness in providing adequate security to Nigerians and foreigners, especially during the Yuletide period.
“We want to show the international world the opportunities that are in Nigeria. All of the scepticism and misconceptions of this country through a few bad seeds, we want to completely put that to rest. We want international investors to know that conducting business in Nigeria is extremely safe. We are people that have not just integrity but fear of God,” he said.
The visit ended with an award of commendation presented to the IGP.
Among the members of IHRO-Africa who came for the visit were Amb. Dr. Chimbo Obieze, Special Envoy and Country Director of IHRO-Africa, while the IGP and members of his management team received them.
