IGP Egbetokun Inaugurates New Police Mechanical Workshop And Tactical Vehicles

In a significant move to enhance the operational capabilities of the Nigeria Police, Inspector-General of Police IGP Kayode Egbetokun, on Thursday, inaugurated a new Police Mechanical Workshop and commissioned 40 tactical and operational vehicles at the Force Headquarters in Abuja on June 19, 2025.

The newly established state-of-the-art workshop, located at Dei-Dei, Abuja, is equipped with advanced technology and facilities aimed at ensuring that police operational vehicles are maintained in optimal working condition.

This critical support unit will play a vital role in facilitating timely emergency responses and effective policing operations by minimising vehicle downtime.

In addition to the workshop, IGP Egbetokun unveiled a fleet of vehicles that includes anti-riot water cannon trucks and Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs).

This enhancement to the Force’s arsenal is expected to bolster its operational efficiency and readiness to address security challenges across the nation.

During the commissioning, the IGP reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to effective responses against security threats while issuing a stern warning to individuals and groups threatening the peace and tranquillity of the country.

He stated that the Force is prepared to take decisive action to protect the public and maintain order.
