IGP Egbetokun Leads Nigeria Delegation To World Police Summit In Dubai

… Discusses cross-border intelligence collaboration

In Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun has begun a high-level international engagement at the prestigious World Police Summit 2025. Under the summit’s captivating theme, “Beyond the Badge: Envision the Next Era of Policing,” he will be joining international law enforcement leaders, security experts, and policy influencers.

According to a press release on Tuesday, 13th May, 2025, signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the summit, holding from May 13–16, 2025, serves as a platform for advancing dialogue, partnerships, and innovations in global law enforcement. The IGP’s presence underscores Nigeria’s commitment to international cooperation, modernisation of policing strategies, and intelligence-led law enforcement in an increasingly interconnected and technologically driven world.

Egbetokun seized the opportunity to hold strategic discussions with law enforcement chiefs from several other countries, focusing on intelligence sharing, training exchange programs, and joint operations to curb cyber-enabled crimes and improve border security. The World Police Summit also featured technology showcases, strategic workshops, and collaborative panels addressing crime forecasting, next-generation forensic tools, community policing, and digital identity systems — areas the IGP noted as vital to Nigeria’s future-facing security architecture.

“The Nigeria Police Force reaffirms its resolve to continuously raise the standards of service delivery, professionalism, and global cooperation. The IGP’s participation at this summit represents a bold step toward aligning Nigerian policing with international best practices while fostering a safer world for future generations, the statement concluded.

The World Police Summit was inaugurated in 2021 to bring together global leaders, experts, and innovators in law enforcement and public safety. Organised by the Dubai Police, the Summit has grown into a key international platform, drawing participants from over 138 nations.
