….. Meets Alaafin of Oyo, Polish Ambassador-Designate
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, on Wednesday, 13th August 2025, hosted a delegation of prominent traditional rulers led by the Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade, and his wife at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
According to a press release signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, also present were the Ataoja of Osogbo, the Olu of Ilaro, the Oloro of Oro, the Olusin of Ijora Isin, Prince Akeem Adeyemi, a member of the House of Representatives, other federal lawmakers, and the Coordinating Deputy Inspector-General of Police for the South-West geopolitical zone, DIG Adebowale Williams.
IGP Egbetokun stressed the critical role of traditional institutions in promoting safety, security, and community development. He assured the royal fathers of strong collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force and traditional rulers to foster inclusivity at the grassroots, aiming for sustainable peace and progress.
In a separate engagement, the IGP received the Ambassador-Designate of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Michal Cygan, accompanied by a senior representative of W-B Group, a leading security solutions provider in Poland. Discussions focused on an integrated communication platform for the Nigeria Police Force to enhance ICT capacity in line with the IGP’s vision of advancing technology-driven and intelligence-led policing.
The IGP reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working with stakeholders and traditional institutions to build a Police Force that is professionally competent, service-oriented, law-abiding, and proactive in tackling crime.
