The Integrity Youth Alliance, an organisation monitoring the development trends in the Nigeria Police Force for over 15 years, has said that the head of the IGP Monitoring Unit, DCP Akin Fakorede, has never disobeyed any court orders as insinuated by a legal practitioner, Oladimeji Ekengba.
Responding to the publication in Leadership Newspaper titled “Lawyer Petitions IGP Over Alleged Interference by Monitoring Unit Head in Fraud Case,” Director of Publicity of the Alliance, Danjuma Lamido, said that DCP Akin Fakorede is a perfect gentleman who obeys the rule of law as well as the judiciary.
“It is unfortunate some elements are out again to blackmail the most diligent head of the IGP Monitoring Unit, DCP Akin Fakorede, with false allegations. He is incapable of the allegations being levelled against him.
“We can say boldly that DCP Akin Fakorede will never disregard any court order, not to talk of attempting to withdraw any case and facilitating the suspect’s escape.
“Distraction tactics like this are common, and DCP Akin Fakorede shouldn’t be deceived by them. The swamp is grasping at straws because it is desperate.
“On a final note, the IGP Monitoring Unit will never assist anybody to escape justice as insinuated by Oladimeji Ekengba.
