The Integrity Youth Alliance has dismissed as misleading and unfounded a media report alleging that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Jimoh Moshood, “dared” the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun.
In a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Kelvin Adegbenga, the group described the publication as a deliberate attempt to incite controversy within the Nigeria Police Force.
It stressed that CP Moshood has never defied the authority of the IGP and has consistently demonstrated loyalty to the Force leadership.
The group clarified that at no point did the Lagos State Police Command refuse to comply with the Federal High Court order vacating the earlier Ex parte orders obtained by FBNQuest Merchant Bank and First Bank Nigeria against Nestoil Limited.

According to the statement, all court directives are routinely processed through the Legal Directorate of the Nigeria Police Force to ensure proper and lawful implementation.
The Alliance further noted that the IGP was not the judge who issued the original Ex parte orders, making the claim that CP Moshood “dared” him over a judicial directive both illogical and baseless.
Reaffirming the Police Force’s long-standing commitment to respecting court orders, the group emphasized that the Nigeria Police does not engage in selective compliance.
It also confirmed, through a reliable source, that FBNQuest Merchant Bank and First Bank Nigeria have filed an appeal challenging the vacation of the Ex parte orders.
The Integrity Youth Alliance urged the public and media professionals to refrain from spreading misinformation and to ensure proper verification before publication.
